LINK JAMES BELL

Link James Bell was born in Tennessee Colony, TX on August 23, 1944. She met and married the love of her life (the late Alfred Bell). She spent 21 years at various Air Force bases with her military husband while raising their children and building her career.

The bulk of her professional career was spent at the United States Postal Service (USPS). While working at the USPS, she obtained a Postal Service Administration degree. She worked in various roles and in multiple locations in Texas and Washington D.C. She was in management for 30 years and spent the last three years managing the Southlake, TX post office. She retired after 33 years. Currently, she is the Director of LSCA. Her greatest achievement is being a mom to her three children.

Link James is a Charter Member of the Greater Denton County (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She and her daughter Susan were one of the three mother/daughter duos inducted together as charter members. While in GDCC, she has served as the Archivist and Chair of the Courtesies committee.

Link James loves traveling the world with her children and son in love. She has been to numerous countries and five of the seven continents (two to go). One of her favorite countries is Sweden where she celebrated eight birthdays.

LINK BERNADETTE A. GREENE

Link Bernadette was born in Yokohoma, Japan. The daughter of a career military service man, Link Bernadette lived abroad during her early childhood. During the civil rights movement, Link Bernadette’s parents decided to raise Bernadette and her two sisters overseas. Link Bernadette lived in Germany until she entered high school. After returning to the States, Link Bernadette and her family moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she attended and graduated from Northeast High School.

Link Bernadette is a graduate of Oklahoma University. After graduation, Link Bernadette started her career as a Health Planner for the state of Oklahoma. Shortly thereafter, she tested and was accepted in the Army’s Civilian Personnel intern program. Her Civil Service career as an intern Management Employee Relations Specialist for the United States Army began with an assignment to NATO/SHAPE Belgium. During her career, Link Bernadette graduated from the Army Management Staff college and the Air Force Special Operations School specializing in cross culture communications – Middle East and North Africa cultures. She is a graduate of the Department of Defense Equal Employment Management Opportunity School located at Patrick Air Force Base Florida. Link Bernadette was certified as a trainer to teach Army DoD EEO Counselors Prevention of Sexual Harassment. She is a certified DOD mediator for civilian and contractual matters.

Link Bernadette worked for the Middle East district and Division US Corps of Engineers from 1995 – 2017. As a US Army civilian she traveled and lived in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. She retired in 2017 from the US Corp of Engineers supporting over 10,000 Civil Service employees and military with responsibility for providing and addressing civil rights, recruitment and hiring issues, prevention of sexual harassment, and affirmative employment opportunities to civilians and military leaders.

Link Bernadette and her husband Joe have been married for over 46 years. They have one child and four grandchildren.

Link Bernadette has served as the Vice President of Membership for the Greater Denton County (TX) chapter. She served as Facet Chair for the International Trends and Services facet (Germany and Pittsburgh chapters), the Recording Secretary and Correspondence Secretary in various Links Chapters. In 1990, she helped to charter a Links chapter in Germany. She was also an active member in the Reston, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania chapters.

Link Bernadette became a Link May 1990 when chartering the Frankfurt Germany chapter.

LINK PATRICIA HOWELL MILLER

Link Pat Miller is an accomplished Executive Coach providing consulting services to C-suite executives, high-potential leaders and those transitioning to new roles. She has extensive C-suite experience as a Human Resources officer. She is passionate about supporting leaders to unleash their creative potential and increase their leadership effectiveness and business results through insights gained from enhanced self-awareness and honest feedback. Having worked in the C-suite, she understands the executive mindset, organizational politics and how to navigate in large, complex organizations. Her coaching style combines keen business judgment with a collaborative, advisory approach that delivers consistent, high-level impact.

Before her executive coaching and consulting experience, Pat was a Human Resources Officer with over 25 years of senior management experience in the Energy, Financial Services and Cement sectors for domestic and global companies of 40,000+ employees including AIG, British Petroleum (BP), Cemex (formerly Southdown), Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) and Southern California Edison. Her experience includes providing leadership on key transformation and change management initiatives including an enterprise-wide culture transformation following a workplace shooting. Overall, she has successfully driven change across people, systems, and processes to generate optimal employee performance, maximize retention of top talent, and favorably impact the bottom line.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education with a minor in Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Her certifications include Korn Ferry Leadership Architect and Leadership Circle Profile.

Link Pat became a Link in 2013 with the Los Angeles Chapter. While there, she served as Treasurer for four years, Organization Effectiveness (OE) chair for three years, co-chair of the chapter’s National Trends & Services committee for two years, a member of the Membership Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee, and served on the Western Area’s OE Committee for two years. In January 2022, she transferred to GDCC following her relocation to Frisco from Los Angeles and has served on the Health & Human Services committee. She is married to Dr. Clarence Miller, and they have two adult sons, Jeremy and Cameron.
